VT. Who signs v5 when not there on collection day?

Hi. I have started the process of voluntary termination today. I now have to wait for BCA to call me with a collection date. I am leaving the car at the dealers when I pick my old one up and BCA will collect from there, which could be a number of weeks yet. I have been told I need to leave the V5 with the car and just fill out section 9 and send it off when collected. Does the collector from BCA sign this section as well before I send it off? It's actually the finance companies name address that will be entered in here. Do I just make sure the dealer gets BCA to sign that section and then give it back to me? Thanks.

Probably easiest to fill in the online form to update the DVLA - I seem to remember it asked for the V5 serial number and name and address of the company collecting the car - a few days later I got a letter confirming the transfer and a cheque refunding 1 months tax.

You could sign the V5 with your feet. The DVLA don't care.

Dont forget to take plenty of close up pictures of the car when you hand it back so they cant bill you for any damage they may or may not cause while its in their possession

Thanks for the replies. Took it in today and took photos. I will fill out the v5 online once they have collected it. The dealer thought it should have today's date on it but surely it is still technically mine until BCA collect?
