Adding a second vehicle - no NCB

I'm purchasing a second vehicle and need to arrange insurance. Over 10 years NCB on my current vehicle, but obviously this is not relevant for the new vehicle. Tried some online quotes but don't like the numbers. What would be the options to get a better deal please?
Should I call an insurance broker and ask for a deal for both vehicles (any suggestions who)? Or what would be the best way to get cheaper (but good) insurance cover?
Both drivers are 40-50 years old. Clean licences, etc.
Thanks.

Worth trying a local broker (not Swinton) to see if they can get any sort of discount/mirror your existing NCD on the second vehicle.0

Is one driver a named driver on another? You can sometimes use that as a barter to get NCD.0

At the moment we have one car with me as registered keeper. NCB was earned by myself. Other half is named as an additional driver. It matters not who is named as registered keeper/named additional driver on the vehicle we are about to purchase. We both share vehicle usage and will do 5-6K max per vehicle per year.0 -
