COOP VISA card - is this PPI?

I just came across some old Cooperative Bank VISA statements from 1989 and they have a monthly debit labelled "CREDIT INSURANCE AT 0.450 PER 100". Is this PPI? If so, I will attempt to reclaim it.

It sounds about right, 45p per £100 of balance covered assuming it was a varied amount each month not a fixed one.

You can complain about it (not reclaim it) if you can provide details of why you think it was miss-sold

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
