Help to buy ISA - Closing Statement

My daughter has a Halifax Help to Buy ISA. She called them to close it and transfer the money so that she could pay the deposit on her first house. What actually happened was that they transferred the money and then sent a Closing Statement with only the interest showing. She can't therefore claim the bonus.
Has anyone else had experience of this? The Halifax are blaming her! She has made a complaint but I am not hopeful. Shouldn't the Halifax have managed the process better?
Thanks for any help you can give

I would go back to the Halifax,
This is quite strange as the closing process for all accounts is that the interest is added and then the total amount is closed, either by transfer to another account or cash...
It does sound like a transfer has been made and then closed the account and therefore the closing statement that is printed when accounts are closed would not include the transfer that was made prior to closure...
If it is the above I would go back to the Halifax and make sure a complaint as been filed and you have a reference number, you will find that you will have a response within 28 days. (I think) but I would definitely pursue this further.
