I am just about to start some serious decorating (more than just a lick of paint) and want to ensure that I have suitable accidental insurance cover (A long time ago, my mum knocked paint over their carpet and was not covered, so I want to make sure I am now).
My current insurance has accidental damage covered, but it does not specifically note anything (just some restrictions - not specific to carpets, flooring, doors or bannisters etc). I just want to know whether I am being a bit over cautious in not assuming that they are covered anyway before I go back to the broker. Being tight I don't want to call their 0870 number if I don't need to!
Thanks for your help.

Yes, provided you have AD to both buildings and contents (no eliminate the arguement that may start if something is buildings or contents) then stuff like paint spillages should be covered.
Just note that paint spillages tend to get looked at more carefully 0 0

I'm not surprised - I remember seeing the bill for the new hall, stairs and landing carpet!!!
That's as I thought, but I'm always cautious with insurances. Thank you!0
