Post Office - unable to get money!

I have an Online Saver account with the Post Office and, when I try to withdraw money, I get a "Transfer cannot be applied at this time" message. No further info is given, nor a contact email or phone number. There is also nothing in the FAQs to explain possible causes.
I can see from a Google search and Twitter that complaints about the exact same issue go back many years.
Has anyone experienced the same problem recently?

I've had savings accounts with the Post Office for years and never experienced a similar problem. Before going any further, why not give them a call? I've got a number for their Online helpdesk: 0345 600 5580.I have an Online Saver account with the Post Office and, when I try to withdraw money, I get a "Transfer cannot be applied at this time" message. I find this very shocking, particularly as I can see from a Google search and Twitter that complaints about the exact same issue go back many years.

I've just had exactly the same!
I've just opened an account, logged in and discovered 2 very small balances from previous savings accounts. Tried to transfer these balances (interest residues) into the new O/N saver account, and the same message comes up.
Not impressed with the online pages either. Seriously wondering if it's a good idea to transfer my (non-current account) instant access fund there for the sake of an additional 0.25%! The £17 extra interest (on £7K) will be soon eroded by my costs / time on the phone / annoyance / etc.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
I transferred money from a Post Office bond to a current account this week. It was done online with no problems.0

Post Office has this free phone number listed on their site:

you need to call them, its a silly block on your first withdrawal and they provide no further info.0

As a long time customer I've switched accounts frequently and never experienced such a problem.Alice_Holt wrote: »I've just opened an account, logged in and discovered 2 very small balances from previous savings accounts. I presume you have access to a phone and alternative phone numbers have been given in this thread. So why not telephone them to get their explanation? Alternatively, copied from their FAQs:
