    A pet peeve of mine - wifi sniffing software, inssider type thing, as it only recognises wifi packets. Often hidden SSID's are also not visible. Any other transmissions that may blot that frequency out will also not show up, and there are many devices besides wifi that are allowed to transmit on this frequency.. The only thing able to pick up everything is called a Spectrum Analyser, but some SDR have this function too and only cost a few hundred £.
