Hi guys! I can access my e-mail via gmail online but hate the format! Also I find thunderbird a bit 'sticky'.
Whilst probably having too many files/pages/progs etc open my PC (old XP!!!!) crashed & on entering Outlook Express-synced to GMAIL- no messages at all in any folders & this error message (Outlook Express did not open properly or download any messages) 'An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800C0133'
Are there any easy freeware programmes you guys know of that will easily restore e-mails & attachments to the folders still in place on Outlook Express? If not will bite the bullet & use Thunderbird...or any other similar to Thunderbird that ain't so sticky/temperamental? Thanks again for any advice!
EDIT-BTW have system restored to 3 earlier dates (has worked before)-no joy

Hi! Thats fab....error message gone & inbox populated with TODAY's e-mails only. All older mails lost. However....most of the other folders (sent items etc which are the important ones really) are complete. BTW-there were a LOT of mails in the inbox....not sure of which version I have but possibly a size limit???
Is there any way to recover the older inbox e-mails to Outlook Express? Thanks again....love the friendliness on this forum!0 -
Bumpetey bump-anyone? I know I can retrieve old e-mails via say Thuderbird but if an easy way to restore OE would be great??? Will also google today & back up old mails somewhere.0
