A Brocken Spectre – an iridescent spectacle which many people see as a halo – will be created by artist Charles Monkhouse within the grand ruins of Rievaulx Abbey each night from 12–15 April. It’s the centrepiece of an interactive music and light installation with the Illumaphonium produced by Michael Davies that’ll take place throughout the night.

There’ll be food, a barbecue tent, wine and much more on offer throughout the evening. One lucky Living North reader will be able to relax in style while watching the light show: as well as getting free entry to the event for four people, worth £40, they’ll also receive a supper hamper worth another £40 to snack on as they observe.
