It looks to me that they asked for suggestions and went on to have a poor experience with a food tour. Something that no appears to recommend.

So why ask in the first place?

Surely posting positive experiences provides a counterpoint to the negative experiences.
Describe someone as "spouting off" seems a bit rude and insulting", especially from someone who has written a long post with no interesting nor relevant information about Vietnam.

    Anyway....not my business. :)

Many would find that asking people about the highlights of a destination is a pointless exercise as everyone is different.

Some may find museums and the like to their taste and would recommend a visit, which in itself is futile if museums are not your thing.

Personally, I research a destination and look for things that would be of interest to ME. I never look too much into other travellers perspectives as they are subjective and again, as we are all different, then potentially, disappointment will be the outcome.

Some people find places like Dubai and Vegas amazing and will spend weeks at these destinations - personally, I find them awful, but YMMV.

Each to their own I say.

Sort of getting back on topic.;)

In Hanoi now after 3 leisurely days.

Had food tour with HanoiKids. Our guide took us to several Vietnamese places and we sampled various dishes.

All in all good-tour was free and easy to organise.

Walked most places as we were in no rush and was possibly as quick as the traffic was heavy:eek:
Certainty a sight to see - though we soon fell into the way of crossing roads-don't stop  just go for it.

Caught a bus back today. Lucky I was tracking on my phone GPS as the App Hanoi bus was totally inaccurate.

    That was nearly 25p wasted:D

Overall would not come back here and if you organise it you could see ll the stuff in 2 days max.

Ho Chi Min was closed today-holiday- only thing we missed TBHO.

Took the effort to look at this-as seen on Top Gear Vietnam -Quirky

The nearby B52 museum has a jigsaw of bits that form a B52 in the gardens.
