Post Office saving Issues

Hi all,
My first post here hello, here's my beef !
I have had a Post Office instant saver account for a number of years.
Two months ago I deposited from my nominated bank account into my saving account over 2K. Five days later I thought I would check if it was there! it wasn't. I checked another 5 day later and it was! it says 3 to 5 days on the request form not 10 days. Anyway while I was online looking at my page suddenly I was reverted back to the online savings home page and it said my account is locked and to phone a free number.
I did this the next day, being in Spain at the time it wasn't free it was £1,99. The person I spoke to said I was locked out because (1) I tried to enter the account 3 times with the wrong code and( 2) my account was dormant, I said wrong my account isn't dormant I have just deposited 2K into it. She then told me "wrong" I will have to supply certified proof of who I am or take my passport and driving licence to a post office the confirm, I said I cant I'm in Spain. The conversation came to an end leaving me high and dry.
A week later the same person rang me and said we are sending you a new 6 digit access code so you can start using your account, that was a month ago NO code.
At the end of my tether and unable to access my money I have opened up a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman. I have confirmation from the FO that they have written to the PO, I have also written on the advise of the FO. AS yet NADA NOTHING from the PO.
I am telling you all this just to warn you of the possible dung you might fall into if you open up a PO instant saver account. To date I still cant get to my money and have had no response from the PO. Next step POLICE. I have no choice.

You many of had a PO account for a number of years, but before you made the 2k transfer, when was the last time you used your PO saver account?
I ask this because I know that the PO were advising people via e-mail around January time that unused / dormant accounts would be closed if they hadn't been or were no longer being used. If that is the case, then you made a transfer to what the PO would have deemed a dormant account, if you had no used it for some time.
Do you have the name of the person you spoke to? Hopefully, you do, so I would suggest you call again and advise them that you have still not received your new 6 digit access code.Saved Nitty Gritty £7440.75 [149%] / £5000-[Sep] £58.44:starmod: for the 'Save 12k in 2017' #157

Hi JO Blogs, I didn't know about the emails being sent out and never seen one.
Why take my money then lock me out saying my account is dormant.
In my world I would say to the customer your request for a money transfer is denied because your account is dormant.
I have written once and email 3 times also told them how bewildered I am as to why they phoned me to say they have sent a new code yet I have not received it ...NADA response even though they say a email will be responded to within 3 WD.

..Post Office savings, customer Support(?),.....has always has been crap in my experience. Once bitten twice shy and I will never use them again due to problems I had a while ago and found like you that their "customer support" to be completely incompetent....."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0
