Can I back date National Insurance credits?

I have been a full time mum for the last two years but do not claim child benefit because my parner earns over the threshold. However I should have applied two years ago to earn NI credits and protect my state pension. I didn't and am now wondering if I can have this back dated in some way?

Don't forget that you will only need 35 years of cont. for a full state pension0
