Npower switch

I have a fixed tariff which ends 30th April with npower. I have done a comparison and switching to a one year fix with npower will be my cheapest option as I do not want to switch to a smaller unknown company. If I use the MSE energy club to switch rather than just asking npower I get £30 cashback. My question is when would be the best time for me to start my switch - the npower adviser said it would take a few days via a third party - does this sound right?

I wanted to time it so I stay on the tariff I already have till the end of April though.

    Hi Snowbelle

I am also on the same tarrif. I'm not sure how long it would take if you were staying with the same supplier; however I just went on the Cheap Energy Club and with my usage I found a better, cheaper tarrif with a smaller player (So Energy - MSE Top pick).

I decided to apply and took the plunge and signed up...
Well, I followed it with a phone call (as I had not received their welcome email and wanted to check they had the right one on file) and spoke with a bright customer service advisor who was brilliant - polite, smart and on it.
It's made me feel so much more confident of the smaller supplier now.

I hope all goes well with your switch.

    S :)

Thanks Sniblet as I am staying with npower I wondered if it would be quicker. The reason I wont go with a small company is that I switched to Extra Energy before and that was a complete nightmare. Good luck with your switch.
