I went to a concert of minimalist music in London last week, does that count? My house is full of books though!

My earlier comment may have seemed facetious, but it's been genuinely helpful for us to have many of our belongings stuck in a barn for years. A large proportion of them will now go to the nearest auction house or the tip, even some of the 'heirlooms,' which were formerly sacrosanct. We haven't missed them, but it took forcible separation for us to realise they'd play no further part in our lives.

The tip presents issues for me. Brought up in a different age, I find it difficult to dispose of items which still function, so I'm a member of Freegle etc. It works, up to a point, but crazily, it sometimes works better just to put things on eBay and ask money for them.

I remember someone reacting very angrily when I had a Phillip Glass album playing in the car, way back in the 90s. It wasn't loud and I'm sure they'd never have shouted, "Please turn that bloody noise off!" if I'd had some Radio 1 on.

Times change. Barely a week goes by now when his music isn't playing in the background of some documentary or other.
