PPI Reclaim

Hello,
I'm writing on behalf of my mother-in-law. Her husband died in 2011, she was the sole executor of his estate. I have managed to reclaim successfully £3500 so far for her. Whilst he was alive, all of the finances were dealt with by him and as such she has not letters or account numbers for any bank or institution that may have miss-sold him PPI. So what we did do was send a letter to all of the main banks, asking if he had an account with them, majority of them said "can you send us details of his account numbers" which we don't have. Is there a way of finding out if he did have an account to all of the main banks/institutions OR is there a way of accessing his credit history. Appreciate any help you can give!

It's going to be very difficult to access details of a deceased person's finances even if you had account numbers etc .
You Mother-In-Law (no one else) could send Subject Access Request (SAR) letters to all the likely lenders asking for any information still held on file for her husband. As these searches would cost £10 each, it could prove very expensive with little or no reward.
If she has no archived documents herself , I'd say the £3,500 already won is as far as she is going to get.0
