hi i have a little problem, i have recently had an accident in a works van not driver fault (a young girl ran out at the side of me and collided with the side of the van) ,the police were in attendance and i was told i would not hear any more about it. but my works has now had a claim launched against them for injurys, although this is a works van and works insurance, do i have to inform my own car insurers of this accident? not sure what to do.

Good old compo Britain, run out into the road, hit a van and then try and blame the van driver for your problem, greedy parents should be done for fraud.
Ensure you get the police report confirming it was not your fault and then fight the claim all the waySam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Oh how times have changed.
The same happened to me many many years ago .............................. and I had the mother banging on my door ................ holding the little scrote by the ear apologising to me

Yes, you do have to inform your own car insurers, if not now then certainly at renewal time. They'll ask you if you've had any accidents or claims in the last 5 (sometimes 3) years regardless of blame, and the answer to that question is yes0

So why is it 'Yes' when in another thread ref. Hire car incident, it was 'No'?0 -

I have no idea what thread your talking about but if you have an accidental in a hire car then of course you would have to declare that as well. The question says "have you had any accidents", not "have you had any accidents, other than accidents in a hire car/ work car/friend's car/red car/whatever"So why is it 'Yes' when in another thread ref. Hire car incident, it was 'No'?0
