Hevc/h265 playback, really thick (!) Question re: playback on 4k/ultra HD TV!

hi all! Ta for great advice so far. Samsung 4k seems way to go. Checked all techy connections etc and called supplier to confirm these, all OK! HEVC/H265 file types. The USB playback does not have this listed as a recognized file type. No great shakes as don't,t anticipate downloading in this format and in the unlikely event I did I would convert it with a free converter. A lot of the films I watch will be via kodi or fire TV, so assume if streamed and in HEVC format on the web site Kofi/fire stick uses then as its not playing directly from an H
EVC file (is on USB stick) and is streamed would play on TV OK?

Question 2, if via the smart TV I downloaded and saved kodi to the television (quad core so should be OK) and played an Hevc file would this still play fine as it was streaming it? Worse case scenario is plugging android box in, which to be honest would just really be for Kofi, so to save wires and an extra HDMI socket being used would downloading directly to TV still allow HEVC to play?

Obviously Hevc h265 is best file type ( according to internet) for best quality UHD/ULTRA 4K Films/files.

Last question I promise!:T

Yes, as the TV will be getting a decoded video stream through the HDMI port.

Yes, the stick is doing the work. TV just gets the HDMI signal.

In theory, I've no experience, you should be able to install Kodi on any Android TV with the Play Store. You'll need the hardware to be up to it to be able to smoothly play UHD. Considering you'll be watching illegal streams, you shouldn't be making your TV purchase decision on this basis as you've no-one to complain to if it goes wrong. Fallback as you say is to stick with a stick. Again, I can't tell you whether that hardware is up to playing UHD.

I think you should have all these questions in one thread, but I guess it's open to interpretation...

Almillar-thanks! That TV is not Android BUT Kodi can be loaded in various formats-assume it's the PC version I want? Will google it....!!!! If can be loaded directly to TV saves using an HDMI & my rather cheap chineese box packing up lol (could always I spose have it as a back up).

Kodi does have some stuff that is legally 'grey'....but I tend to look at old TV series, etc & the odd film. I certainly don't use the add-ons that offer 'free' sports/PPV or Sky Cinema, etc etc. Will update once set up!

Its age doesn't make it less wrong. Copyrights in the UK last several decades.

Good luck. I've been trying to get videos to play via USB on a Celcus TV, but nothing works, all I get is "file unsupported or unrecognized".

It seems to be a common problem.
