claim on insurance or Settle with cash?

I had a minor accident by scratching another person's car. They have quoted £350 to repair. We have checked our insurance and excess is £150 and if we claimed on insurance it would increase by £ 100 for renewal and our 2nd car would have no change. 2nd car has protected no claims. We would save £100 by claiming on insurance. Does this sound ok? Advice welcome.

Your excess is on damage to your own car, not a third parties.
Your Insurance will increase anyway, because you have to advise them of a fault incident. If your Insurers pay out a claim to a third party, then your premiums will increase more.
Speak to your Insurers about it.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
