Soft Search

Options
Hi All,

Will try and keep this brief.
Wife applied to get a credit card, declined.
She did a soft search on her and me, cannot be found either of us, rechecked details, nothing.
She took out free credit expert trail, error getting started, they had to send out a pin to verify address.
Arrives today, credit score over 990.
Speak to credit expert, they cannot see why not appearing on soft search? and no suggestions on what to do.
Check details more times than can remember all fine.
Been at address nearly 3 year, on electoral roll.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Anthony

What do you mean by 'she did a soft search' on you both?

    Hi,
If she does a "soft search" on her details, she cannot be found
If she enters my details the same thing.

Forgot to mention that if she runs an eligibility test on credit expert credit matcher, does not give any ratings, and again credit expert could not understand it.

Do you mean if she does an eligibility checker that she can't be found? On which platform?

Or do you mean if she requests her credit file from she can't find it? If so, on which platform?

Only a lender/broker can perform a soft search on her - she can't do it herself.

    Hi,

Sorry not explained it in the best way.
On mse and credit expect runs a eligibility test.
On mse comes up with "oops, We havent been able to give you a score to show your chance or being accepted for same cards. This may be because we couldnt match some of the details you've given us.

Then is says lists of details to check.

On Credit expert on credit matcher does not give a rating at all.

  • Have you got any non standard characters in your name(s) or address, like an apostrophe or accent etc? These can sometimes cause an issue.

you have to have some form of credit history, in order for these searches to work. I recommend getting her on the electoral roll, and starting some direct debits from your current account, as well as starting a basic credit card with someone like capital one or vanquis, before trying again!
