We advertise that sort of position on Recruitment Genius. We have always had a good response.

In my experience when you advertise any sort of admin or unskilled jobs you are always going to put 90% of the applications going straight in the bin. It's all too easy for people to apply for every job going at the click of a mouse. Between that and the pressure job seekers are under to prove they applied for x hundred jobs that month, there will be a huge amount of dross, but hopefully you can weed it out and find the sensible applicants.

I have searched for admin jobs on Indeed, County Council job website and the local radio station website. There are usually plenty to choose from between those three.

    "office administrator" sounds boring (sorry)

I would not leave my current "administration" role for that job title.

My current title is administrator but in a certain sector which I enjoy. Administration roles are varied can you change the job title to be more specific to what the position involves.

If you were doing an online search for a new role, what job title would you put into the search bar?
  • My first stop is always the jobcentre online, I find jobsite, indeed etc. have too many agency jobs that aren't real so only have a quick glance!
