House buying, timescales left?

Hi guys the solicitor is just about to do the searches on a property and we were tagged in an email from them with the sellers survayers questionnaire, Morgan came back fine from bank.

In the questionnaire the seller is only after 2 weeks notice so unsure how long we will be at before able to move in from this stage? We go away in May and also holidays before at work are booking off quick?

Thanksgivings

Whatever paperwork you get, I suggest you read it with more care than you read your posts before pressing 'send'.

Glad to hear of Morgan's safe return btw.;)

Was Morgan carrying a lot of cash on his trip to the bank? Glad he got back OK anyway.

Timescale now? Could Exchange next week and Complete 2 weeks later.

    Or it might be July/August.

How long do you want between Exchange & Completion?

Have you formally told your solicitors what timescales/dates you wish to work to ie your non-availability for holiday in May?
also holidays before at work are booking off quick?
I have no idea so don't understand why you are asking.

hi sorry meant mortgage, and yes we put this in the survey that we were away them dates in May, we are happy to move in as soon as but was thinking maybe I need to try and put a week in at work, we can only have three people off at once in the office but the holidays are filling up.

Searches can take weeks to come back. I'd safely estimate you are about 8 weeks from completion.

OK, so your surveyor knows you'll be on holiday in May.

How is that going to help your solicitor negotiate Exchange and/or Completion dates? You might as well tell total strangers (oh! You have!).
I need to try and put a week in at work,
If you are getting a mortgage, you'll need to have a stable job. An occassional week here or there is not going to impress most lenders.

I think the OP means put a week in of annual leave at work.

The OP is worried that if they are away on holiday either the house move will take place that week or exchange will or survey will.

All of these can be dealt with simply.
Your solicitor can sign for you in your absence should it be vital. Unlikely.
Survey can be done after your weeks holiday should that be necessary.
You simply don't move in the week you are on holiday (and a few days either side) if you don't wish to.

Book your holiday and that's just an immovable date everyone will have to work around.
