Virgin tv anywhere app device registration problems

I've been using the virgin tv anywhere app for about 18 months it's been very erratic but it always worked, (Somewhat sketchily)so when virgin emailed me about the update for the app I was quick to update it BUT now It just doesn't work anymore and keeps telling me to register my iPad before I can watch streaming tv but I have already registered my iPad. It's the same One I used prior to the update

I read the reviews for the app and a few people have had the same problem with the update on iPads. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice but nothing solves the problem it's as though the app doesn't recognise my iPad. Has anyone got any idea how to solve this? Virgin media customer services are not very helpful.
