Free car hire with RAC Breakdown

My car broke down and was off the road getting repaired for 4 days. It wasn't till my partner pointed it out to me, that I realised I was entitled to 3 days free car hire, through having one of the top RAC breakdown packages.
Although the car broke down at home, and we knew what the fault was, we still had to call out the RAC to get 'onto the system'.
I then called the RAC back and was directed to the local car hire firm they use.(They booked it all) I ended up razzing around in a brand new Renault Megane for 3 days.
Thought this might be helpful to someone.

The AA do a similar scheme, except we take you tio the hire car.

dont think breakdown cover is needed on toyotas
