I finished paying for my mortgage around 1986 and I think I was paying some sort of insurance, like PPI.
I contacted The Halifax Building Society about PPI but they ignored my querie.
I contacted one of those PPI companies that reclaim for you but they informed me that it was too long ago.
Have I any chance of getting any information and do I stand a chance of getting any money bac because it has been so long ago.

Unlikely it was MPPI in 1986.I contacted one of those PPI companies that reclaim for you but they informed me that it was too long ago.
It is. It pre-dates financial services regulation. You dont even know what it is and you have no records. It was also before MPPI was mainstream. So, it probably isnt that. More likely it was life assurance (if monthly premium) or MIG (if single premium).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
