Superstressed insurance quote after accident

Hi all, im so stressed - I've been driving since 1995 and had no accidents until last year when i had 2 within 4 months. One was a minor bump in a car park, but the other was a lot more serious and wrote both cars off. I'm now getting quotes over £2000 - I know it is probably right but I really wasn't expecting that much - is this about right based on your experiences? I don't want to endlessly traipse around for other quotes if I haven't got a hope in hell of reducing it . Please help - thanks

Did you have a protected no claims bonus? This will save losing all your no claims discount, making a premium rise less of an impact.
Otherwise, following the MSE guide on insurance, try the main comparison sites + the few that are not on the comparison sites and worst case try a local broker (the advice on here seems to be to avoid Swinton), add a relative who could realistically drive car, check your job description etc (do dummy quotes not using your own details to avoid insurance being cancelled)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

2 incidents in 4 months may well be the reason for the high quotes - you're seen as a higher risk.0
