in Credit cards
Hi,
Have had a few things on buy now pay a year later at Very. I have paid most of them off and have roughly £600 left. Now I could afford to may it off in the next couple of months but there is a high chance i will be moving and want to save as much as I can for that.
On my ClearScore account I have a CR of 507.
I have been thinking of a low interest Credit Card and maybe doing some kind of balance transfer?.
Do you think that might be a way to go..?
I have a 95% chance of being accepted for this card
Save on your balance
Virgin Money 27 Month All Round Credit Card 18.9% APR
and this one
Save on your balance
Virgin Money All Round Credit Card 18.9% APR
a 90% on this one
Tesco Bank 32 Month Balance Transfer Clubcard Credit Card 18.9% APR
Any advice is appreciated.

What are the promotional rates on them (if any)?
You'll probably need something with a money transfer option for a Very account - unless they accept cards as purchases, in which case you want a purchase offer, not a BT.0 -
In order to benefit from a Balance Transfer you'd need to be certain that you it is a CREDIT CARD you hold with Very. I have a feeling it's more likely to be a store card or account, and if so you can't make a balance transfer to it from a credit card. Credit card BT's can only be made to another credit card, not to a store card e.g. an Argos card. Can you use the Very card do buy groceries, petrol, cinema tickets etc or is it only for spending at Very?
If it's not a credit card but a store card or account you'd need to look for a Money Transfer offer on a credit card. This allows you to transfer the funds to your bank account and then to make a payment to Very to clear your balance.
Money transfers usually have slightly higher fees than those for a BT, so do be sure to do your homework first to ensure you apply for the right one. Hope that's a help.0 -
OP should look at a Purchase offer as Very accept credit cards when it comes to settling any outstanding balance(s).
Hope that helps. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
I can confirm from personal experience that you can use a credit card with 0% purchases to settle your account from Very. As others have said, you cant balance transfer because Very account is not a credit card.
Besides getting a 0% purchases card you can also get one with a money transfer offer (money goes to your bank account and then you pay Very from there).
But considering these two types of cards, the purchases one would be cheaper because there would be no extra fees to pay. Money transfers normally involve a fee, up to 5% (average 3%) of the amount transfered.0 -
Enjoy a low-interest period of spending
Virgin Money 28 Month Purchase Credit Card 19.9% APR
Purchase offer duration
28 months
Purchase offer period p.a.
0%
Representative APR (variable)
19.9%
So this would be a good one for purchases then?0
