HSBC Advance Current Account - By Invite Only?

    To get an advance account at HSBC you have to be paying more than £1,750 into your current account every month. If you could achieve this by getting your wages paid into your HSBC current account instead of First Direct, then that would eventually be a way to get an invitation to turn the ordinary current account into an Advance account. But keep in mind that if at any time the total money coming into the advance account drops below £1750 a month, the account automatically reverts to a normal current account.


    They do look at the nature of transfers in, so just setting up a transfer from First Direct to HSBC every month may not work.

    HSBC say they'll write to remind you to adhere to th terms of the account not revert it.
    They're not willing to consider my wages being paid into 1st DIrect and want about 6 months history of my wages going to the HSBC account. So alas! I move on.
