Bank coin machine service?

Are there any banks that still offer a coin machine service to money into your account? I called at my HSBC branch today and their coin service is now been closed.
I want to avoid the supermarket coin service because they take a 10% cut, which is a bit of a rip off.

I believe a lot of Metro branches do.0

Try another branch if there's one locally. I used one of these HSBC machines on Monday. Maybe they're just messing with it to make it accept new pound coins? I certainly hope so, I'm a coin hoarder.
I know Natwest and Metrobank both have similar machines. Metrobank ones can actually be used by non-account holders if you have one locally?0 -
Barclays machines seem to have disappeared as well.0

With the spread of self-service banks I would have expected more of those machines. Perhaps they are not that reliable. The last time I used an HSBC machine it undercounted the coins that I deposited and I left a complaint with a member of staff. The difference was credited later.
Do you have local supermarket that has self-service machines that have trays instead of slots into which to feed coins? If so you could use quite a lot of coins to pay for groceries without holding up the queue significantly.0 -

You might call it a rip off but gives you some idea of the costs of collecting and banking large quantities of coin.
Why not spend your pennies and coins whilst saving saving your fivers and tenners instead?
Less hassle to count and bank - and no cost.0 -
why not count it, bag it and pay in at a counter? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

Bag it up and use a bag or 2 when you use the self scan checkouts.0 -
That is one of my pet hates getting stuck behind someone in the bank with a few hundred pounds of coins which has to be counted.why not count it, bag it and pay in at a counter?
I contacted HSBC head office and I was informed that my local branch had given out wrong information, some branches still offer this service and there was one a few miles away from me.:)0
