Are managing agents regulated ?

Do managing agents have to be licensed or regulated and have a regulatory body ?

I have huge issues with the ones my Freeholder uses.

    I don't believe so.

Have you spoken to other leaseholders?

Have you (all) considered taking over the management yourselves (under Right To Manage)?

Not licensed or regulated but the main professional association is ARMA and many managing agents are members.

ARMA has a code of conduct which can help leaseholders resolve issies with its members although ARMA itself has many issues and is far from perfect.

    You can visit ARMA here.

    Thanks G_M.

Yes there are 3 Leaseholders in total and we have all come together to set up an RTM and are in the position of just waiting to see if the Freeholder challenges it.

Thankyou for this. Once the dust has settled with our RTM we are going to complain about the Manging Agents, they have been really incompetant.
  • Just looked, they arent regulated by ARMA.

Sounds about right, if there is any criteria about accuracy and professionalism they wouldn't meet it.
