    "Hi all,

I have a friend who has recently sold a large item on eBay. It's a large expensive item that needs to be collected. She listed it to only accept PayPal."

Most people also do not have credit and debit card terminals in their house. That is another reason why PayPal is the best way to pay sometimes for the buyer. It is really time this was sorted out. If I was going to someones house to pay for someone worth a few hundred pounds, I would feel uncomfortable carrying that amount of money. But then if I was selling something for collection, there is no way I would accept PayPal.

I would never accept PayPal for an item that someone was collecting but that's just my opinion. Ive been stung by the nicest seeming people on eBay a fair few times. I have had people come to my house and give a false address for a car that they purchased from us and they were lovely!
I would be careful but it's obviously you or your friends decision.
