Halifax 0% credit card, 2.98% transfer charge do we pay it straight away?

Im looking to transfer my old credit card debt to a new card like the hailfax 0% credit card which they say they will charge 2.98% for this service in the first 90 days.
Does this mean i will pay that 2.98% of what i transfer as soon as it is transferred over?
Also these 0% cards say they transfer with most other credit card companies. Mine is a virgin money credit card, do you know if halifax accept virgin money for transfers or if not what credit card company does?

Yes basically 2.98% of the transaction will be added to your credit card balance, usually you can transfer up to 95% of your credit limit. You have to make the transfer within the first 90 days of the card being active to get the offer & any transfer made outside the 90 day period will be subject to the normal interest rate on the card.
