Judi, I hope the ring turns up.

Jackie, we went to the IoW for a week once but it wasn't our cup of tea, just as well we're not all the same or it would sink under the weight of visitors.

I'm looking at a huge vase of tulips I bought last night in Tesco for £2.50. All their mother's day flowers were reduced to half price so I treated myself.

DS went to the dentist yesterday and she found a lump in his neck (enlarged lymph node) so he has to get it checked out tomorrow. I'm not panicking because I think it's more likely swollen due to infection than anything else.

I'm feeling very tired again today, so I'll be pottering along quietly.
  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Misty morning, sun did not break through at all yesterday and it was very brrrrrr........I usually turn the heating down during the day...not today.

No real plans for the day, apart from maybe tackling the ironing. I have just out a fleece gillet of OH, guess I will have to tackle it at some stage this week, not looking forward to it, the stuff stretches like mad if you are not careful.

Doubt if OH will be going out to the garden unless the mist clears, we are waiting to hear when the wood and wood chips are being delivered. When they do come it will be all hands on deck to get the mulch shift, it comes in a huge builders bag, far too heavy for us to shift, so it will be shovelled into the wheel barrow and barrows round to the paths.

DD1 sent a photo last night of the new baby in his car seat, wrapped in his quilt/playmat. Very cute.

Lamb last night was delicious, I'll carve whats left off the bone, will do the bone in the pressure cooker with some soup mix and make Scotch broth. We will have some of the lamb with jacket spuds and tomato and celery salad.

Very foggy here but clearing woke up early as the bin men came at 6 and it seems some of them had a good weekend from the conversation we could hear .
Dumpling worrying about how to exit your house in a fire is not over thinking anywhere you stay/live you should know how to leave quickly if you have to
Today should be play school for Dolly but i dont think we will make it as the pest control man is coming as we have a problem in the loft again I am sick of being the only one to deal with it as its costing us every few months we are in the middle of a block of 6 terraced propertys i need to call the council to see if they can help
    Right onwards n upwards
Have a great day whatever you are up to

Hi chums well my Dr is so nice bless him and when I said I thought the kids were making a fuss over nothing, he said 'never ever think that, I am pleased to see you at any time. He has been my Dr for 21 years and I have seen him go from a young newly qualified Dr to a middle aged chap with grey hair :) Thoroughly nice chap, and he had a peer inside my lugs and said looks like the canal is getting very narrow, and has signs of an old badly healed infection ,so I have a spray to use and he has referred me to the audiology dept at the local hospital, I still think its just down to old age but hey I'll keep the kids and him happy and trot along when I get my letter :)

Made a large vat of soup and left it portioned up to cool in the kitchen and am now just waiting at DDs house for the boys to come home from school.

I have been looking at attractions in the Manchester area for later on in April and there seems to be quite a few for my friend and I to visit on our trip. Still need to find a decent street market for a good browse though ,any ideas would be welcome

Right time for a cuppa ,beautiful day here in Kent, and the sun is shining and even a good few patches of blue sky at last

    cheers chums

    Afternoon all
Had a very eventful morning. Went to town for a browse and decided to call in Morries for some liver. I was parched so DH and I had a coffee before shopping. Suddenly the man opposite shouted for help, as the man he was caring for was choking. Up jumped DH to help, but both DH and the carer were hindered by the choking man's very large wheelchair. Then a third man arrived to help and between them they managed to dislodge something from the man's throat. He was very lucky to be alive as he was turning blue. A first aided was called for TWICE but by the time he arrived, the man was breathing again.
So now home, DW on and one load of washing done, had put it out as the sun was shining but now pouring down so will have to dry indoors.
Not doing anything else as had enough excitement for one day!
    Hugs to all the poorlies

A bit misty and overcast here and the sky is a very odd colour.

E mailed dds with ideas for holiday and got some more queries to answer so will do that later. Mince is defrosting for tomorrow and have found a recipe for mince plate pie to bake for when dd and sil come round.

    JackieO

How you manage to keep the secret I can't imagine but it will be lovely when you tell them.

There is some salmon in the freezer so might bake that later and have it with salad unless it stays a cold day and then will do low fat chips instead.

    Hugs to all.

I didn't get chance to post this morning as it was a mad rush and I've been a busy all day, what with work, dance class for the DGD's, sorting out mobile phone problems etc.

I've been discussing storage with Captain Hot Stuff, he was of the opinion that everything would be fine and that the storage space would be adequate until I showed him the list of things he wanted to store on the only shelf in the wardrobe, this includes all his shoes, the sheets, towels, toilet rolls, spare duvet during the summer, sleeping bags for the DGC and various other items!

I'm also planning to add storage to the kitchen, it was designed by someone who didn't cook. There is one shelf in the kitchen cupboards 6 inches from the top, so a lot of wasted space.

Time I cooked a meal myself now.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Evening all.

Venison all cooked up and portioned out. Have to say it's turned out really tasty with the ale, it's normally casseroled with wine so I was taking a risk. I've frozen the chicken dish I made on Sunday, again in portions, and am using up the left over lamb shanks from weekend which were brilliant. They were bought in so I'll get them again! I've loaded and set off the dishwasher three times today.

My meeting was OK, brief and informative. The SQA has brought in new rules which seem to be almost impossible to follow so we'll just have to see how it all goes.

I slept really badly last night because of the pain in my knee, unusually, so I'll be taking my painkiller tonight. I don't like to but needs must tonight, and I'm sure I'll be heading upstairs shortly to watch TV in bed and fall asleep. I'm working tomorrow morning so need to be bright and breezy.

Colder here today so I'll put the blanket back over the duvet.

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. CAMELOT - DD and eldest DGD went to see Beauty and the Beast last week, they both thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was brilliant. The two younger ones thought the Beast looked fierce and frightening in the trailers on tv and didn't want to go!

It's another miserable start for us but rain not forecast so not all bad! Being a Tuesday it's bus ride day, incorporating a late lunch out. Maybe Otley again as I like the little market and good selection of charity shops. Then backtrack to Ilkley for late lunch. I have some vouchers from our energy supplier which would cover lunch in Pizza Express if we fancy a pasta meal. What could be better than a free meal to round the day off!

Have a good day folks and (HUGS) for the poorlies, sad or worried who want one. Take care all xx
TA I absolutely love Otley's chaz shops. It's a shame the psycho ex is from there :rotfl:

    Evening all,

Nice this morning, headed over to DD4 to take her girls for a walk, as soon as they were all strapped in and raring to go it started to rain, poor little M was heartbroken, she sobbed for ages, only cheered up when Daddy arrived home early!

We had fish, mixed roast veg and OH sliced up some potatoes into wedges, sprinkled them with mustard and coriander seed, salt &pepper and oil, roasted the whole lot for 45 mins, really enjoyed it and was glad that we hadnt eaten it all as DS1 arrived unexpectedly, he hadnt eaten so he finished off the leftovers.

JackieO, you have done really well to keep your trip a secret from the boys, well done. Well done too on managing to be so frugal and have such a great social life.Enjoy the IofW.

Gers, you certainly been busy, but you will have such a stash of ready meals that you will be easily fed for weeks.

Csarina.....I hope that you will go easy with your shovelling and barrow wheeling.

Hester, I dont think that men understand storage.......in this house OH would just push everything into cupboards regardless of whether there is enough space or not!

Judi....I hope that you have found your ring by now.

Going to bed shortly, cant seem to get enough sleep these days and want to be up early tomorrow as its my knitting morning.

Sleep well and stay safe everybody
