Company Car Damage Not My Fault
Some good advice needed pls!
Another driver reversed into the front of my company car while it was stationary and I was sitting in it. I took the details of the driver, but unfortunately there were no witnesses.
When I told my boss he said that I had little chance as the damage was to the front of my car and the insurance company/court will rule in favour of the other driver, and is demanding I pay the £200 for repair.
Is this my only option? I am really annoyed as the damage is not my fault.

Why not wait till your company car is at the end of its contract and see what the "recharge cost" is going to be...0

just because the damage on your car is to the front does not mean the insurance company will side with the other party. I had a similar bump where a woman reversed into my car and it was completly her fault and she paid for the repairs.
Tell your story and let the insurance company deal with it. What did the person who hit you say about it?0 -
Depends if the person who damaged your car is honest and said to their Insurers that it was his own fault!
I think your boss is being a tool in jumping to conclusions. The man without a signature.0 -
who is demanding you pay £200 for repair, the boss? If it is a company car, it is his (or the insurance companies) problem, not yours.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Presumably you have some sort of agreement whereby if you damage the vehicle then you stump up £200 to cover the company's excess?
Regardless of this, it's not down to your boss to second-guess what the insurance company will decide and make the decision on their behalf. Stick to your guns - if it wasn't your fault then you shouldn't have to pay.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
