Hi, im a student and i want to upgrade my laptops Ram. I know which memory chip i need. My problem is when i buy the Ram chip, should i get a specialist to install it if so where can i go to to do it or can i easily install it myself.

Its not realy that difficult.
If you turn over your laptop you will see covers held in place by retaining screws, one for the HD, one for the WIFI card and one for the memory. Check with a workshop manual for your laptop to see which one contains your memory. Or if your realy brave and very careful remove each of the covers untill you find the right one (dont be tempted to touch any of the internal components). The memory slides into a retainer and clips flat to the mainboard.
My advise, if your going to spend this much money on memory its worth spending an extra 5 pounds for an anti static wrist strap so you dont damage the components and make sure your grounded before you do anything.
PS make sure you laptop is switched off and the battery is removed.
