Halifax Mortgage Process 2017

So it's been declined for non-declaration of credit? An example of why it's always better to be upfront about everything. Did you leave these out for affordability reasons?0
-
Yes. Left out as it would drastically affect the amount I and my husband could borrow.
Well if there is one positive; perhaps someone else will read this thread and not fall into the same trap as me.
With a lower purchase price, I will only be able to buy in another part of the country. Scotland maybe but as I was born in London, my children attend school in London and my entire family live in London, I need to stick to renting for rest of my days. My rent is higher that the mortagage payments - sad joke but a sign of the times.

Thats very strange...the credit cards are nlt on your credit file ? How can the bank see them ? Cant you just closr them if they are cleared then apply again in a fee months0

I'm confused as to why they would decline as they only ask about outstanding debt. You could have 5 credit cards and 1 has a balance thats the only one you tell them. Did you have a balance and cleared it? It takes 6 weeks for this information to update with credit agencies.0

It must be there somewhere - even though i lived at my partners parents the santander card still appeared and i wasnt on the roll there ...0

would it not appear under linked addresses? Mine go back at least 17 years ago.0

Myself and my partner are FTB and applying for a 95% mortgage via a broker with Halifax.
We got the DIP 3 weeks ago, found a house, offer accepted and proceeded with full application. We have since been told that the case has been referred to the underwriter, broker advised this was because my partner has a note on her file (she was a victim of identity fraud 2 years ago).
Since then my partner has had a call from Halifax asking for further employment details and yesterday our MB asked for proof of deposit which we sent over, Halifax have also taken the surveying fees and that is booked for the end of the week.
Is this the normal practice? We have been biting our nails waiting for an answer. We know this will be subject to valuation but don't think there will be problems in that respect, i actually don't think I can wait any longer without going grey
If anyone has any light they can shed on the situation and if it all seems to be going to plan that would be much appreciated xx0
