Ive told them they siad it gonna be my fault as I was going into the lane as you guys previoulsy stated so you were correct, will I have to pay any excess if I just claim for them how does the excess business work? They said they would look at fixing my door too I said dont wory as thought the excess is probably more than me buying a door as I only have a ford focus and get usually pick up for £40 or will I still pay for this anyway. They said I could ring back if I changed my mind?

    Thanks again

Better off repairing it yourself if the excess is going to be more than the £40.00. The excess is usually paid at the time of the repairs of your own car/deducted from a total loss settlement.

There are some policies which apply an excess even when its just a claim from third party. Just double check.

My main quierry regarding excess was if they just repair the other persons or if they repair both cars will the excess be different or is each policy different depending on what you intialy decide.

e.g If just their car is it £100 or if both is it £200

As its only my door damged it makes sense for me no to repair mine does that make sense?

    Thanks
