Quote to re-render below bay window

Been quoted £435+vat for the following; first time had anything like this done so do you think it sounds reasonable?

To prepare existing pebble dash render to first floor front bedroom.
Allow to provide a base coat/scratch coat to bay.
Allow for top coat render
Allowance has been made for covering up the new upvc windows.
Provision of scaffold tower.
All waste from the works will be removed from site.
Site will be left tidy.
Price includes all labour and materials.

    Price seems reasonable enough.

Just a shame you can't use someone who isn't vat registered and save yourself £87.

I've a feeling that the "+vat" bit is on that quote as it's an official document, his price may well be lower when we come to pay, you never know.

  • Can you put up a photo of the amount of rendering that needs doing?

Experience only-not necessarily a guide for you but:-
Had a much bigger area (x4 or so) done last year for twice the price, more fiddly bits but no scaffolding build required (just low clip together stuff) which can be a significant element.
It was a known tradesman who did a great job over two separated days with a labourer.

So imho not too bad provided they will make good any defects found before rendering unless structural!

But as already posted, why not get another quote or two. Nothing to loose!
