Credit card ppi has been turned down

Hello. Many years ago when I was going on a family holiday to Florida I was advised that I needed to take out a credit card to use when I was over there. When I was sold the credit card in the local Clydesdale bank branch I was advised that in order for the credit card to work in the USA I would need to incorporate the insurance with it. I found out many years later when it was widely reported that ppi had been miss sold at this was not the case. Around 7 years ago I contacted the Clydesdale bank to make my ppi complaint and was told that it was not mis sold and to contact the financial ombudsman if I had any further queries on the matter. The financial ombudsman looked at my complaint and advised that as I was sold ppi at the counter at the branch that the terms and conditions would have been made clear on the paper work and it was my fault for not reading the small print. I seen Martin Lewis on this morning a couple of weeks ago and he advised that anyone who has not claimed for ppi should do so now as almost everyone will get a pay out. I contacted the ombudsman again today regarding this and they said as they have looked at my complaint 7 years ago and the complaint is now closed they will not reopen it but anyone with a new ppi complaint is likely to get the compensation. It just seems incredibly unfair as I was lied to when I took the initial credit card.
Clydesdale bank have been told to relook at all previous ppi complaints as they were fined, but they will only relook at the complaint if there was an error in the initial investigation. I am at a complete loss as to whether there is anything further I can do with this?

I seen Martin Lewis on this morning a couple of weeks ago and he advised that anyone who has not claimed for ppi should do so now as almost everyone will get a pay out.
Martin Lewis is at fault here for encouraging everyone to complain again. He is just suggesting this to ensure that those who were affected by Clydesdale complaint handling errors do not miss out. However, for most, it's a waste of time for both the bank and the customer.
Almost everyone will not get a payout. Only those with a legitimate complaint.
Your complaint was over seven years ago, time to get on with other things...0 -

The problem with your complaint is lack of evidence. You could say you were promised a personal visit from Santa Claus or the the person told you all sorts of things. The FOS are correct. Your case was looked at by the bank and rejected and looked at by the FOS and rejected. That is it. There is nothing further to do. Even if you were making the same complaint today, you would still be rejected. Nothing has changed.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Or is he encouraging it to create traffic to MSE/ Resolver etc?

Thank you for your replies. I had a letter to say I was awarded ppi on previous loans but did not realise that there was a lower success rate on ppi complaints with credit cards. On the most recent letter from the Clydesdale bank it does say they plan to undertake a review of all past ppi cases and this includes every customer who has previously made a PPI complaint. As said above though unfortunately I don't have a great deal of evidence so may need to just put it to bed.0

When he sold MSE he was paid in a mix of cash and shares, as he's still contracted to work for the site and regularly appears on TV providing advice relating to MSE and MSE owns resolver it's fairly likely he wants the site to make money to make his shares worth more (he still owns 1.5% of the shares after selling some of the shares he got in the sale - down from 3.1% at point of sale - that 1.6% was worth £25m so fairly likely his holding is still worth close to £25m)
My issue is that he has fostered this culture of wrongly using "claim" and "reclaim" as if it was money owed, rather than complain, which is why there so many confused posts on here where people have been rejected. It also harms those of us who didn't take out things like PPI or chose packaged accounts and don't want to lie about pretending we didn't want them - bank profits and falling shares impacts on pension funds and the rates / benefits we get from banksSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
