Entering an IVA can I change job to work in Insurance?

Hi,

I'm just about to enter an IVA as I currently work as a taxi driver with my own car which over the last 5 years has put me into quite a lot of debt. I am looking to re-enter the world of Insurance as a customer service advisor which i used to do about 9 years ago but I am worried that I won't get past the application stage these days as they now perform credit checks as standard.

Any advice would be great.

Hi

The IVA will show up on your credit check for 6 years, but I don’t know whether that would be an issue for the position of customer service adviser.

I think it will come down to the policy and employment contract of each particular company. You could try contacting the HR departments of a few companies you’d consider applying at to ask.
