If you are an existing customer, what's to stop you actually cancelling and ordering as a new customer?

I asked about this, and if you cancel and try to resubscribe from the same address, you will be treated as an existing customer.

However, other threads on this site pertaining to SKY and SKY+ give examples of existing customers who have managed to get SKY+ for £99 all in, simply by threatening to cancel (and being prepared to hold out until it appears they will accept your cancellation).

Similarly, numerous examples of people (including myself) getting reduced monthly subscriptions by threatening to cancel.

Just out of interest, do you mind telling us what you ended up paying for it?

Honesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
    you are on!

if i had known then what i know now!

a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!
  • All of the below is assuming that you've two premium channels.

Whoa - Lyniced you're supposed to be a MSE !!

EDIT: Don't be shy - ring and say you wish to cancel your order for Sky+ and explain why (see below).

The deal even for existing subscribers is £149 plus FREE installation. That's a £110 saving - but if you ring their cancellations dept (08702 404040) and state you wish to cancel (give them the tale of a friend has it for £99 plus FREE installation and he's new to Sky and you want the same deal as a loyal customer).

I know - I did it and got it for £99 three weeks back. :D

    I've got a 240GB TIVO its fab
If you dont ask for discount you don't get discount
  • Yeah but what is the Tivo subscription, and what did you pay for the 240gig drive? Surely you have to take that into account. You could have got the Humax 8000t for £122, and nothing more to pay
    Moi....? ;)
