Basically none are very good, I have had them all over the years. My latest inkjet buy was an Epson Xpress XP212 until the carts ran out after replacing it would not print. I have now bought a cheap Samsung mono Laser, much much better.

See, I have an HP Photosmart and have had it for years now. I have used genuine ink, the cheapest of copy ink, better copy ink and the only issue I have had is through not using it enough - ink drying up. It has a document feeder for the scanner, prints double sided and has a normal paper and a photo paper/envelope etc tray. Can also receive emails and print from what (If I am away from home) and connect to a fax service if I so desired.

I also have a Brother Mono laser - only trouble I have with that is that it sometimes seems to not connect to the wifi - but think thats been my fault as had that many homeplugs etc in the house it got confused, not done it since we moved and I have simplified the wifi.

I was tempted to buy a colour laser but may as well keep the two that I have while they work.
  • We always have Epson printers but make sure the software is never updated.

My current MFP is a Brother MFC-J5625DW office jobbie.
I had a Canon MP620 which developed the B200 error after many years of service. I did fix it twice, but decided enough was enough and skipped it.

I went with a budget of £100 and the office printer was cheaper than the home version.

My wife is a crafter and we replaced her Epson SW225 with a slightly different model of Brother to mine. She has printed over 200 colour pages and still has 60% ink left for each colour.
    Prints/scans A3 as well.
