Hi Sourcrates thanks for that. I've checked them both and nothing showing. My credit score with both is above average with no defaults at all

So, it's been a few months now since I stopped paying our credit cards. Last payments to co op were 18th April and we have now both been defaulted, my letter came this morning.
Both our mint accounts are now going to be managed by Moorcroft. (Can anyone advise about these).
We still have Barclaycard, Santander, Capital One and MBNA to sort out, but on the whole I think things are going ok.
I know we still have a huge way to go but thanks to the help of all you wonderful people on here I feel that we will be ok. Three months ago I was a gibbering wreck but I'm now beginning to get into the swing of this debt management malarkey.
    Thanks all :-)

When a creditor says they have got a certain DCA to "manage" your account, that's all they are doing, managing it, the debt is still owned by the original creditor, so said DCA has no authority or power to do anything, you can tell them to get stuffed, or to "go away" if you so please.

If your still after defaults, ignore these clowns as well, the next step will be default and sale of the debt, that's the point you start taking notice.

    Another day another question!

So we've had a response from Nationwide (the originally messed up the CCA request) they are unable to locate a copy of the original signed application form.
They say unable to locate a copy of your signed original application form. In these circumstances to satisfy the CCA, we can produce a reconstituted unsigned application form. This form will continue to show what terms and conditions you were subject to at the time of opening your account.

The account was opened in 2012. Will this do ? thanks

    Hi there
To be honest, I'm not really sure what I'm after. I realise defaults drop off after six years but at the moment I'm not sure we'll be wanting credit again but who knows in the future maybe?
I definitely want the interest stopped because that's what is crippling us at the moment and I feel that most of what's owed on the older cards is probably interest that's been added on over the years. Until that's stopped I can't see a way forward.
I have postal orders here at the ready to do CCA requests but I didn't want to rush them, I was saving them as a back up and with the coop account I'm glad I did, I don't think we would have been defaulted yet if I'd been sending token payments (haven't sent a penny since April). So I will be sending them off to the coop accounts tomorrow and think I'm right in saying that the account will then be put on hold until the find the necessary paperwork?. If/when they do, I will arrange a payment plan and start paying them. Until then I will carry on building up the emergency fund, (it's looking quite healthy now) :T
As for Moorcroft, I think "get stuffed" is the line I was after:rotfl:
    Thanks Sourcrates

Vaper I had real problems with Asda Credit Card. They flatly refused to remove or suspend interest despite this meaning that we were paying off something like 59p a month ! the rest being swallowed up by the Interest (this was while we were still with SC). After a couple of letters and a complaint and threatening to go to the financial ombudsman they agreed to stop it and even refunded the interest for the last 6 months
    hope you get it sorted

    Oh right.
Was that while you were with stepchange or self managed?
We were originally going to go with stepchange it was all set up apart from the signatures, but then I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to do it myself.
Will they still consider this then as we are self managing?
It's so unfair how they refuse to stop the interest, especially when they know you are struggling, proper taking the p**s. But I suppose it's because they can get away with it. I need to toughen up a bit and start appealing things.
I will get there, I really will :rotfl:

Yes Vaper it was early days when we had been with SC about 6 months. But that shouldn't make any difference at all, the principle is still the same. How can you possible make any headway when they are adding ridiculous amounts of interest. Definitely appeal and explain that your other creditors have stopped the interest.
