    Good morning All,
Having a little wobble this morning.
DMP with Payplan still not up and running, Halifax aren't playing ball - they are telling Payplan that they 'can't find' my details that PP have, as the address is wrong (it's not). Hummmmppph!

Any how, decided to tackle the pile of 'filing' I have (we've all got a pile of unopened post, haven't we?) and got a bit sicky at all the letters from various creditors. I shall be having a bonfire later - I'm sure that will make me feel better.

The reason I'm in this fix is due to Hubby's long term illness - I have borrowed to make up the difference in income whilst he's been off ill (for nearly 2 years!). Money and tax is a huge trigger for him. I was going to do his tax return for him, mentioned it casually (as I thought it would be fine) but he's gone off on one again. If he finds out that I've started a DMP he will go (even more) mental than he is now. I've realised that simple things like renewing house insurance is going to be a bit tricky in future, now that I've jettisoned any credit rating I had but I'm the one that sorts all the household bills and stuff - he, traditionally, just paid for everything. He's going to want to know why I can't set up direct debits from our joint account any more (I assume that our joint account will be affected by my individual DMP?).
Sorry - I wish I could be more positive on this rainy July morning!
DMP launched 04/07/17 left to pay = £14,238.79 (£16,982.82 original debt.) Thanks to MSE & all you wonderful Forum Peeps!:T

Hi PP and sorry you are feeling a little :( this morning. Rainy July here too.
There are many of us on here (me included) who have 'borrowed' to make up differences, whatever the need may be. You're not the first and certainly won't be the last.

Not sure if you are still using original account, if that's the case someone with more knowledge will be able to set you right about DDs.

Just wanted to say I hope your hubby doesn't stay angry at you and you are able to sort out Halifax. I also sort out all the finances and took me a long while to get DH on board.

Try and keep your chin up, we are all here to support you.

Joint account is one we've had since getting married (23 years ago - don't tell Martin!! I know, but Hubby won't consider switching!) Mortgage, bills, insurance etc all get paid from here, always have. Hoping that if I just renew policies (at the risk of it costing more) it won't cause any issues with my credit rating? Haven't got enough emergency fund to cover the car and house insurance in one go - yet!

Going to Aldi now with change I found down the side of the sofa.
Might splash out and get some chocolate bikkis!:D

    pp,

As long as you don't have any debts associated with your bank account then its fine to keep using it. You would only include it in your dmp if you had an overdraft that was being included, then you would need to open a new bank account.

As for house and car insurance, no worries I have been on my dmp since 2013 and regularly chop and change them with no issues and pay monthly. Mortgage is different but should be fine if you stay with your current provider as they don't generally credit check for changing products.

Enjoy your shopping trip and chocolate biscuits...

    Purplepaws,

I have been insolvent twice, and never ever had to accept a worse deal on car, bike, or home insurance, it never affected me in the slightest, so been on a DMP should not affect your ability to get the best insurance deals either.

I agree, insurance policies should be fine after all if you don't pay they just cancel the policy.
If only mobile phone contracts worked the same:(

    Hi all,

Just a follow up to the letter I wrote to Idem saying I wouldn't be paying anything as it was Unenforceable and asking them to write off the debt.

They have given me a case number

thank you for your complaint received 20th July 2017. Our operations manager has been made aware of it.
I am sorry to learn that you have been dissatisfied and confirm we will be conducting a thorough investigation into your concerns. Once we have completed this we will write to you
they enclosed a copy of their internal complaints procedure.

I have no idea what to make of that! Anyone had dealings with Idem after they had said a debt was unenforceable thanks
