Giving companies money

On 3 occasions in the last week I have tried to give companies additional money but 'their systems' do not allow them to accept it. The irony is that one of the companies has been chasing me for over a month now to make a payment but 'their system' will not allow it to be entered; in the other two cases it is for upgrades to previously purchased holidays - which is pure profit for the company.
I am noticing this problem more and more. Why do so many companies have such poor systems that means they are failing to maximise revenue from each customer.
Name & Shame time
- Thomsons
- First Choice (part of Thomson group so may be same system)
- I will not name the third at this point since it actually may involve legal action

IT systems are not perfect, sometimes they go down. Unless it is a continual problem, it's hardly worth a name and shame. Just call them back in a few days, or ask them to call you once the system is up again.0

By naming and shaming I hope they get their act together to 'fix' their systems that are obviously not fit for purpose - especially if the limitations are costing them revenue.IITYYHTBMAD0 -
ask for their BACS details (d/d payments must go somewhere!), or send them a cheque!breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0
