I also have a number of 'building' credit cards, and a barclaycard. My overall limit is over £10k, when they are all paid off. Even though my income is negligible, i have never missed a payment in the four years i have had credit, never become overdrawn, got no defaults no ccjs, etc etc.0

I don't see why you needed to take out a loan then if you have a fairly decent limit compared to your income then your credit history can't be too bad.
Stop worrying about the number, if you keep your cards and keep using them and paying them off and don't apply for any more credit that will look better to lenders than applying for loans and having a monthly commitment over a period of time.0 -
I would advice highly agaist it, or sharing that link. What you will be doing is, in essence, sending money to some limited company with zero guarantees of what happens if it dissapears or the company decides to cease trading.
Also they didn't even hire a lawyer to write their TOS, as it comes with nonsense like:
There is no such thing as Ombudsman for Estate Agents, and even if it existed it would do nothing in the above scenarios.
Now I'm confused. It was through MSE I heard about it they have said it is a way to build credit history while renting..your money goes via them to landlord same day.0 -
i also looked in to that rental scheme, and to be honest i wasn't impressed.
there are lots of other ways, to improve your credit reports/score, without putting such a big risk in.
for example, register to vote, set up a direct debit or three, and never go overdrawn. also just wait (without making further credit applications)
these are four fail safe ways, to make your credit files improve.:j0
