Thinking of giving the amazon prime free trial ago, mainly to download the things i want to watch at a later date onto my tablet.
I have been doing a bit of research and to do this i need the amazon prime video app, which is ok, but having looked on the google play store there is more than 1 app of this name, but do i really need it or is it just a way of getting adverts to me? And if i do need it which one do i download?

I'm not sure you can watch Amazon Prime stuff via an app on the tablet at all (unless it's a Kindle tablet), any Amazon apps on the google play store should be by "Amazon mobile llc".
I think you might be able to watch amazon prime stuff with the tablets browser but I'm not sure.
Also most services that let you legitimately watch subscription type content on your tablet will either have a time limit that runs out after X days, or require authentication that the account is still active and entitled to watch the content, so probably wouldn't be of much use if you are hoping to download them to watch when the trial ends..0 -

It's confusing but the Amazon Video app is not available from the Google Play Store, you need to install the Amazon app store application separately and download Amazon video from there:
