I ended up breaking two of those extending roller things when I painted my ceiling, with paint going everywhere. I'm a complete amateur so probably wasn't doing it correctly, but I ended up getting the painting pads and a stepladder - this turned out to be much easier and didn't get a drop of paint on the walls.0

It will need more covering if you get white on the walls, just take your time and use a small brush round the edges first before you roller. A single none extending pole will do unless you have high ceilings. Please don't paint over ceiling rose or lightswitches, just loosen them or remove them first.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

I find it a lot easier to use a hop-up when painting a ceiling and it is useful for a lot of things where a stepladder is unwieldy. You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.0 -
