  • I've just done my last two switches, to the Co-op and M&S, none left for me now (HSBC wont have me). Have closed two HBOS accounts because they dropped the interest rate and a nationwide Flex plus because they are about to increase their fee. So I have left a Co-op (£4pm for depositing £800 a month, 6%?), M&S to link to a 5% saver, two Santander lite to link to two 5% savers, then a TSB & four Tesco, all paying 3% for varying amounts. A Nationwide Flex Direct paying 5% which is linked to a 5% reg saver (I've two of them, one in the wifes name) and two regular savers at 5% with First Direct (again, one in the wife's name). I also have an N&P and Ford at 4%. Finally, and these are the worse rates I have now, two atom accounts at 1.98% and 2.19% plus a couple of ISA's paying 2.5% and 1.8%.

What I'm going to do now? God knows. Guess I'm waiting on something new coming along. I'd like to fill the ISA again next April but I'd have to remove money from accounts paying more so that doesn't seem to make much sense.

It's been fun but I'd swap it all for one regular bank account paying 3% on up to the £85,000 limit. I think that's a pipe dream.
