Lovely and sunny here so I have a load of washing outside as well as three winter jackets I washed yesterday which are now on their second day outside.

I have some chicken, pepper and mushroom pasta which I made last night so planning on some of that for lunch and then freezing a couple of portions.

Middle dd has e mailed me to say that she and older dd are coming over tomorrow to cook me lunch and bringing the ingredients with them so will do another quick tidy round and hoover later so the place is not a tip.

Lady gardener came round yesterday and we chatted about what to plant for the summer and rose bushes for the back garden etc. I found an online Dutch site which had really good offers so checked what she thought and ordered a lot of stuff. They had a NHS award winning "blue for you" rose so I ordered two and another five assorted scented roses as well- lavender plants which were a bonus offer and free and a lot of cottage garden perrenials which should provide colour and bloom right up to October. I saved £129 and got free postage and packing so very pleased and even more chuffed that I only spent around £50 in total.

Another dd popped round yesterday to cook me an advance Mother's Day peppered steak and salad and said DH would have been amazed to see me immersed in a gardening catalogue and really pleased I was going to be a library volunteer one day a week.

Hope you have a lovely weekend on the boat. Bet you can't wait to get away from your employer for good- is it in the summer?

    Hugs to all

    Afternoon all :hello:
Made it through the day yesterday but had to go to bed at 8.30pm.:rotfl:. Managed to do the Easter Egg hunt and visit the canal wharf, where we had a picnic and walked the trail looking for " the witch in the woods ". DGS identified the sound of a woodpecker and a buzzard glided over our heads while we ate, lovely! The weather was dry but the wind was biting. DD arrived for tea and brought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers ready for Mothers Day, although she is also calling in tomorrow too.
Today's weather is cold but sunny so two loads of washing out. I have tidied all the craft stuff away and washed the paint and glue pots, which were soaking overnight. All the toys and Lego have been re-homed upstairs and the living room dusted. Have also hoovered through whilst DH washed the car.
Not doing much for the rest of the day and tea will be some odd one portion meals from the freezer.
TA so pleased about Mr.TA,s oncology results.
Dumpling You are a lovely, kind and caring Mum.
Hugs to all and enjoy the rest of Saturday.
PS. DH just informed me that the car now needs polishing and he has a pleading look on his face, so I think that's a hint for me to help ! There goes my feet up afternoon :rotfl:.

Back at home after our attempt to go diving. Car rear ended us at a roundabout in Balloch. Grrrr. Thankfully no one hurt.

Tow truck brought us back so we are switching cars and will try again shortly. I'd be tempted not to bother but the hotel is non-refundable and DH really enthusiastic. Gers hope you see some seals. I'm hoping for a flying gurnard.

she was very odd on thursday night and did 2 weeks indoors which has never happened before she was also very subdued so will see how that goes wether it was the muzzle or me falling i am not sure
Assume that's actually 2 wees? A word to the wise - keep an eye one her; PennyDog started weeing indoors one time, most unlike her - long story short, poor lamb had contracted cystitis. Course of anti-flybotics got her sorted out, though.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Evening all
We've had a long and busy day today, lots of jobs done on the boat, shelves and hooks fitted, more rubbish cleared.

We have dgd with us she is 6 and has loved her time on the boat, especially when we took the boat out of the Marina on t to the canal. We went from Crick to Yelvertoft, turned round in a winding hole and came back to the Marina. I will post pics on my blog on Sunday evening when I get home.

We also had our first visitors to the boat, Csarina and her dh came bearing gifts, some of her beautiful quilted items, all very useful too.

Dgd is snuggled up ready for bed, the captain and will read for a while and then have an early night.

We will be going home tomorrow for another week of work, roll on October when I hope to retire.

    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • We had a really nice time with Hester, her L & M and lovely little grand daughter.

The boat is lovely, once its been 'customised' it will be very comfortable. It was lovely to meet Hester after all this time.

Hi chums just had a lovely video call from my DGS Danny in New York and he worked out a way that both myself, his other grandpaprents, and his Mum and Dad all managed to speak via the internet on our lap-tops. He showed us all around his apartment that he and his wife have furnished and made home for themselves out there. He has even been buying and putting stuff together. The internet is an amazing thing and to be able for us all to get together like this was wonderful. He and her have a quick visit next weekend back in the UK for a few days and then he has to fly to Toronto for a week and his wife is going to Jersey for a few days to a friends wedding then back to New York to be with him again. They seem to spend a lot of time at the moment flying hither and thither but hope to be properly settled in one spot by about half way through April.

It was great seeing them both and they seem really very happy which is the main thing.

Tonight its going to be feet up and relax for me as I did a fair bit of baking today so a bit of tv and knitting is on the cards
Hope you all have a good evening and remember to turn your clocks forward tonight before bed

    Cheers chums

Just a quick pop in to say thanks to JKO for the reminder about the clocks.
Sorry had to finish last post quickly as ambulance arrived for my elderly neighbour. I missed her daughter so I don't know why they took her to hospital again.
    Sleep tight all.
