Tumble dryer - vented or condensing?

If you do have your washing machine plumbed into the kitchen, ask that it is given its own drain with u-bend. I have both my washing machine and dishwasher plumbed into branches off the sink drain, and gurgling from the sinks when they drain is so annoying! At some point I'll probably install stand pipes to fix the problem.0

But can you show me which ones can be integrated?
If you google "integrated tumble dryer" you will get several suggested models.
It looks like the integrated ones are all of the vented type.
Check they really are integrated, there will be bits on the front for the door to attach to, and they will be only about 56cm deep.
Be prepared for them to be rather more expensive than a regular one.
Personally, I prefer vented, but unless it is on an outside wall your only choice will be condenser, so it may be that a washer dryer is the way to go if you insist on integrated.0 -
Vented is far simpler and cheaper. Condensed dryers have more filters and more to go wrong..... we got ours changed due to the Hotpoint debarckle and mistakenly upgraded to condenser dryer - wished we'd just got a basic vented as the replacement requires much more maintenance and is overly complicated...0

I have suitable outside walls so could have either.

Sorry to high jack your thread, but thank you for asking this as I am looking for a tumble dryer and think I'll go for a condenser now reading the above. I don't need intergrated so I'll be looking for the one mentioned for under £200 as only need it for spring/autumn when heating is off and not warm enough in house to dry washing fast enough. Can't peg out where I live.

You're welcome to discuss relevant washer/dryer issues you are considering on my thread.
Glad it helped you.0 -
We bought a condenser and plumbed it to the drain. Efficient and quiet, heat warms the house, rather than the garden.
Cleaning the filters is pretty trivial, in my opinion.0
